BBC Gardens Illustrated Readers’ Day

New Iconic Gardens

BOOKING NOW OPEN

Come and join us on Saturday November 5th at the The Royal College of Physicians in Regent’s Park for our 2011 Reader Event, hosted by Garden Illustrated and The London College of Garden Design.

Four speakers choose their iconic garden of this era that will, in their mind, be the gardens we will still be talking about as landmarks fifty years hence. Each speaker will champion a garden and explain their choice and the influences on their decision-making. The day will end with a debate and a vote as to the most popular choice.

Our speakers are Stephen Anderton, author and journalist, garden designer and broadcaster James Alexander Sinclair, Garden Museum Director and historian Christopher Woodward and garden writer Ursula Buchan. Each will advocate their chosen garden in what promises to be an entertaining and thought-provoking day of debate and discussion. Andrew Wilson, Director of Garden Design Studies at LCGD, will introduce and chair the day.

The event will be held in the spectacular Royal College of Physicians close to Regent’s Park. There will also be an opportunity to explore the medicinal garden located within this spectacular setting renowned for it’s collection of rare plants.
