Built during the reign of James I, Charlton House is considered to be the finest and best-preserved Jacobean mansions in London. From an initial brief to create a small sensory garden in the old stable yard our involvement with the gardens now includes the restoration of the large Pond Garden, so called as it once contained a large central pond that is now a sea of lavender.
We have also redesigned the long herbaceous borders within the main garden and created the Amnesty International Peace Garden that is home to the specially commissioned sculpture ‘Portage’ by Margaret Higginson. The gardens are often the venue for summer weddings.
Awarded a Civic Pride Gold Award and a LGN Urban Space Award.
