There are many new houses being constructed on the Wentworth Estate but none with such an emphasis on the landscape. This Surrey garden has been designed for Ali Galvin Homes and features a formal entrance, terraces and water with a much more informal rear garden sweeping down to the Bourne with lawns and meadows.

The area has significant trees and, like with many of our other projects, we were commissioned because of our success with incorporating existing trees into country gardens and thereby creating an almost “instant look” with no outlay other than to ensure that the trees are healthy and properly pruned. There are typical Alders next to the waterway at the bottom of the landscape but also Oak and a substantial stand of Beech trees on the slope above.

At the front of the property it is intended to create a secluded entrance that then opens up to a wide driveway, parking spaces and garage access whilst maintaining a soft, planted feel that uses traditional trees and shrubs, yew hedges and some more unusual species such as table pruned Persian Ironwood Parrotia persica and multi-stemmed Snowy Mespilus Amelanchier lamarkii.
