I learnt so much about plants as a child from my mother. She took me to RHS Chelsea in my early 20s and I was entranced. I never thought I would be part of the horticultural world until studying the RHS Level 2 qualification which has changed the way I garden forever. The history, science, taxonomy, sustainability and best practices it taught me have informed my thinking and advice to clients. Knowing about SUDs drainage, permeable landscaping and which trees and plants to specify for surviving climate change, are essential for landowners.
Biography:
My early career in Radio & TV was followed by working in PR & Marketing for travel, fashion, tech, retail and local government. I was a glass artist & sculptor in my spare time, which took me to RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2022 (International Year of Glass – designated by the United Nations). I was then invited to curate the summer sculpture exhibition at the 8-acre Sussex Prairie in 2023. An RHS Level 2 qualification followed which really sparked my passion for horticulture. The LCGD Landscape Garden Design course was recommended by two previous students – now medal winners at Chelsea – and I am so happy to have taken their advice. It has been a wonderful experience with the best tutors in the business and I’m looking forward to putting my skills to work.
