Andrew Wilson was one of the founders of the London College of Garden Design and although he has stepped down as course director, he continues to be involved through both teaching and consultancy.
Andrew is widely acknowledged as one of the UK’s leading garden design lecturers. He has been at the forefront of garden design teaching in the UK and overseas for 40 years. As well as teaching design he also continues to practice. Having previously been a partner in Wilson McWilliam he is now a consultant to McWilliam Studio, working both nationally and internationally.
A former RHS show gardens judge, a past Chairman and a Fellow of both the Society of Garden and Landscape Designers and the Landscape Institute, Andrew also supports the Bloom Festival in Ireland, selecting and judging gardens for this established show.
Andrew is also a respected author and writer with 11 books to his name including the No 1 Bestseller RHS Small Garden Handbook, Contemporary Colour in the Garden, Influential Gardeners, The Book of Garden Plans and the Book of Plans for Small Gardens. He is the founding editor of The SGLDD Garden Design Journal and has written for well-known magazines such as Gardens Illustrated. His design work also features in many books and publications.
Andrew was awarded an MBE for services to the Landscape and Garden Design Industry and to Heritage in 2024.
