LCGD Launches New Courses To Support GREENFINGERS

For the Autumn of 2021 LCGD’S new season of info bursts will speak to 4 young Garden Designers who are making a mark through their planting designs. Tom Simpson kicks off the series on Tuesday 28th September.

Tom is the winner of three Royal Horticultural Society Gold Medals and in 2021, with his sponsor Cancer Research UK and his team, Tom won all four of the top awards at the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, including a Gold Medal, Best in Show, Best Construction (with Rosebank Landscaping) and People’s Choice Award. He is followed by Ula Maria RHS Young Designer of the Year in 2017, Harry Holding and Lucy Willcox.

The webinar events will be online over 8 weeks and you will be able to hear our designers talk about their work and especially how they approach their planting designs. We’ll explore their ideas for new planting and find out more about particular projects and why they have been important to their planting design development. You will learn –

  • How they approach their planting design.
  • The challenges and solutions they have used on individual projects.
  • New planting design ideas for landscapes and gardens on different scales.
  • How they have developed their businesses in the early stages of their careers.

There will be time at the end to ask your questions in conversation with Andrew Fisher Tomlin, Course Leader for our Planting Design Diploma.

FOR THIS AUTUMN SEASON’S INFO BURSTS WE WILL BE RAISING FUNDS FOR GREENFINGERS – CREATING MAGICAL GARDENS FOR CHILDREN IN HOSPICES.

Over the past 3 years LCGD has raised almost £30,000 for horticulture base charities including over £18,000 for Perennial, our own industry benevolent charity.
