I graduated from the LCGD Garden Design Diploma with a Distinction and the ‘External Judge’s Prize’ for my final project, an award given this year by Adam White, President of the Landscape Institute.
My background as an investment consultant has embedded strong project management & teamwork skills – I look forward to bringing these skills to my new career.
A shared courtyard garden for two flats, as part of a new development. Each of the flats required an element of privacy within the garden, as well as access to a shared garden space. My inspiration for the design was taken from the movement of a flock of starlings in a murmuration.
Cambridge Cottage is a wedding & events venue set within the grounds of Kew Gardens, in south west London. The client needed a multi-functional outdoor space, for use primarily as a wedding & reception space as well as for other events, throughout the year. My inspiration for this design was taken from the elegant simplicity & strong lines of Cambridge Cottage itself.
The client wanted a garden in which they could relax and entertain friends, with spaces to dine, play garden games & enjoy the views to the woodlands beyond. My inspiration for this design was taken from the woodlands nearby, as well as the client’s love of architectural lines and modern materials.
A large family garden in the Chilterns with beautiful views over the neighbouring valley. The outdoorsy family had multiple wants & needs, including a kitchen garden, spaces for relaxation & entertaining, as well as play & adventure spaces for the children, and of course a desire to make the most of the outstanding views at the end of the garden. My inspiration for this design was taken from the Chilterns Landscape, and the work of artist Christine Bass – my intention was to breathe new life into the space and make it one that works for the whole family.
An 8 acre estate in south London with spectacular views across the surrounding farmland. The owners, a couple in their fifties with grown up children, wanted to breathe new life into the tired-feeling site, to create new habitats for wildlife as well as spaces where they can work, dine, entertain & relax. My inspiration for this project came from my love of nature & my desire to create gardens & spaces that allow a better connection with the natural world in our day to day lives.
