Practical skills

All our Garden Design courses provide practical skills that help garden designers and landscape professionals develop their expertise.

Students enrolled in our Diploma programmes are often offered opportunities to volunteer at garden shows and festivals. We also share information about design projects and competitions available to students and graduates. With our reputation for skills training within the garden and landscape design professions we are often approached with career opportunities and potential roles with design companies that we aim to recommend to our graduates.

For continuing career development and for those with an interest in garden design but not as a career our short course programme offers a changing schedule and includes workshops that discuss current design trends, planting design skills, workshops supporting drawing skills, construction drawing and specialist design skills such as in therapeutic and heritage settings.

We also promote and occasionally host conferences on subjects as diverse as naturalistic gardening and the influence of our work on the fashion industry.
